my story

origins

My musical journey began aged 6 when dear Mama Williams sat me down and asked me to ‘Choose between one of the following: cello, violin, and guitar’…

To this day I still thank my lucky stars that I replied … ‘Guitar’ it is one of the most important decisions of my life.

TODAY

After years of fronting bands, including London's Devil Say Dance, I now write and perform as both a solo artist, and with collaborators The Bad Ambassadors, who bring a full band lineup of bass, drums, and backing vocals to my songs.

Armed with my white American Deluxe Telecaster and a host of trippy effects pedals, I write heartfelt, epic, melodic music, with intricate guitar music with a retro edge, my music borrows from everything old and new from 60s psychedelic rock and folk even through to reggae, mowtown and 90s shoegaze.

I have also completed several sound production courses such as at SAE institute London, and self-record and release all my music directly, no label means I stay in total control of my music, and control is something that I value highly.

Influences

People describe me as sounding like an amalgamation of Neil Young, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Stone Roses, The Doors, Tame Impala, Kasabian, Elliott Smith, St. Vincent,  Kate Bush (to name a few).

original song//dREAMING OF yOU

'Dreaming of You' is a new addition to the set, a song of pining for someone who taunts you even as you sleep.

original song//this thing called love

'This Thing Called Love' is a song about navigating the world of romance in search of the perfect partner in crime.

original song// before

'Before' is a melancholy song about feeling a sense of impending destruction, can you do anything about what you are sure is coming your way?

original song// destroyer

'Destroyer' is an alternative rock track I wrote with one of my first proper bands in London, Neon People. The song is about dealing with your personal demons, I confront my own addictive personality in this one.

Children of the setting sun

'Children of the Setting Sun' is my latest release (available links in the new releases tab).

Here I perform the track live with my loop pedal and the aid of Torbay's Angels and Mavericks Choir.

This thing called love

'This Thing Called Love' is an original song of mine, performed live with The Bad Ambassadors at Camden Town's famous Dublin Castle. Recorded live in December 2019.

above this planet of ours

'Above This Planet of Ours' is an original song of mine recorded after soaring through the clouds on my way to distant lands... Funny how the change of view can inspire a new perspective on life.

live recording //

i'm not in love

'I'm Not in Love' by 70s group 10CC is a cover I originally recorded to help raise over £300 for Macmillan Cancer Support in November 2018.

live recording //

Dreaming of you

'Dreaming of You' is another original track of mine, all about being driven crazy over someone who you are sure reciprocates your feelings, but is playing hard to get... Have you ever been there before?

above this planet of ours

'Above This Planet of Ours' is an original song of mine recorded after soaring through the clouds on my way to distant lands... Accompanied here by the wonderful Angels and Mavericks Choir in Torbay.

live recording //

before

'Before' is an original of mine written about a sense of impending doom, and trying to do anything to escape an inevitable outcome. I love the guitar lines in this, and the bridge, a sort of modern day 'The Chain' by Fleetwood Mac in my eyes.

live recording //

trainwreck

'Train Wreck' is an original song of mine recorded after a dream in which life was totally outside of my control. Sometimes there's nothing for it but to sit back and watch the train crash unfold right in front of your eyes... As soon as the guitar riff came along I knew this would be a great track, and the lyrics are rather dreamy which I love.

live recording //

our love's an addiction

'Our Love's an Addiction' is another original song of mine, about all consuming love, inspired by my wonderful girlfriend, I'm particularly fond of the lyrics of this one.

'You know our love's a religion, we built this temple we live in, we found our god on those bed sheets, naked and thrilling, our love's a religion.'
